Teen Group Facilitator
Teen Group volunteers have the opportunity to co-facilitate with a staff member a group working with the teens in our Supportive Housing and Connection programs. Facilitation means to “make something easier”, so these volunteers work to be supportive, encouraging, empathic and respectful as we help our young people break some of the ongoing negative cycles in their lives and assist in their emotional and social development. This volunteer must be 21 years or older and be respectful, accepting, and valuing of differing perspectives and experiences. Have the desire to build strong ongoing relationships with teens to support and promote positive changes in their lives. The success of this position requires weekly consistency and normally takes place on Thursday’s from 6-8pm. Our teen group spends time at the Walker Art Center, a local skate park and takes tours of universities.

Summer in the Park
If you like kick-ball, flag football, arts and crafts or basketball, then this is for you. We meet every Thursday in June, July and August from 6-8pm at Ainsworth Park. Teenagers from the community shoot hoops and younger children participate in kickball, flag football and arts/crafts.
Perspectives of Hope Gala Committee – Each Fall we host our annual Perspectives of Hope gala. Prior to the event our gala committee works with board members and staff to secure sponsors, as well as silent and live auction items. On the evening of the event, volunteers work with staff to manageregistration, set-up, check-out and help with decorating. Each year this sold-out event is the “go to” gala of the season.
