This is a great opportunity for students in Family Social Science or Marriage & Family Therapy Programs, or even community members wanting to share their parenting skills. Our Parent Coaches work with families who have been court ordered for supervised or monitored visitation and need assistance in their parenting skills. Your volunteer experience will include conducting interviews, presenting a parenting curriculum, writing objective reports, maintaining client files and writing case notes. Having knowledge of divorce issues is helpful but not necessary. A six month, one shift per week commitment is required in order for your family to complete a 26 week parent coaching curriculum. That one shift can be Tuesday through Friday from 5-9pm or Saturday/Sunday from of 8 to 12, 11 to 3 or 2 to 6pm. That shift needs to be consistent during the course of your volunteer experience.
